The coloured concrete is obtained by powdering and smoothing of a mineral hardener coloured on surface fraiche of a concrete at the time of the casting, in order to confer a decorative color to him, as well as a great resistance of the industrial type!

The Material

It is about the traditional material used in public works.

Bastaing or calepinage (stone, brick, paved…) for the formwork.

Rake, shovel, trowel, hawk, rule of levelling.

Brush to paste or brush.

Curing agent.

Pulverizer provided with a tube dispersing the fine goutelettes product.

High- pressure cleaner (120 bars minis).

Joint PVC, mechanical saw with disc or calepinage.

Vibrating needle, striker or regulate.

Preparation

Au préalable, the building site must be protected in order to prevent the passage of the vehicles, the pedestrians and the animals.

Ground: For a weak traffic, the ground must be withdrawn on a height of 45 cms and be filled with materials crushed on a height of 30 cms. The surface waters must be evacuated.

For a more important traffic, a calculation of roadway will have to be studied.

The formwork: it can be carried out traditionally with bastaings but the technique of the calepinage is highly advised.

The calepinage and joints PVC: The materials stones type, bricks, paving stones create decorative bands and are used as points of support at the time of the implementation. The formwork wood is thus removed. Placed in a judicious way, the calepinage removes also the joints which, if not, will have to be envisaged (in the case of a concrete fiber, every 25 m ², with the biggest length lower than 2.5 times the width).

Protection of the calepinage and the accesses: To pulverize or apply a product protecting the calepinage from concrete projections.

Reinforcement: The concrete is fiber, which makes it possible to remove the lattice anti-crackings whose installation is always painful and delicate (the lattice having to be with semi height thickness of the concrete).

A concrete fiber does not replace to in no case the lattice of structure.

The Concreting

To protect the building site if there is risk of rain or strong heats.

To humidify with refusal the support before the concreting.

To draw the concrete with the rake and to make the level with the rule (if the delivery is ensured by several spinning tops, work in “checkerwork”, i.e. by identical squares of surfaces).

Maintenance

Preventive treatment: It is highly advised to apply, a few weeks after the end of the building site, by pulverization or with the roller, a film of surface which, by impregnation, will prevent the penetration of hydrocarbons and will facilitate the elimination of the surface stains by simple washing.

Curative treatment: After a few years of use, the concrete can require a cleaning aiming at eliminating all traces from stains to return its colors of origin to him.

Adapted products make it possible to restore to him its initial aspect by a simple brushing in surface.Nous can then apply a protective film as to the preceding paragraph
