Tool allowing the external vibration of covers and concrete flagstones, consisted of a metal section equipped with a vibrator, which one makes slip on surface to be treated. The vibrating beam is used in order to allow a uniform consolidation of the concrete without involving segregation nor to leave cavity.

 

Why vibrate the concrete?

 

The concrete is a mixture of cement, water, of sand, fine gravels, additives and bubbles of air. By supporting the mixture of the aggregates and by expelling the bubbles of air, the vibration ensures the good filling between the formwork and the coating of the reinforcements. It is a key element to obtain a facing of quality and an optimal mechanical resistance.

 

When to vibrate?

 

The concrete must be vibrated as of its implementation thus avoiding the creation of air pockets and ensuring the good filling of the lower part.

For the flagstones and the roadway systems, there will be advantage to use a vibrating beam. These tools with thermal or pneumatic drive offer widths of action reaching 5 Mr. They vibrate the surface of the concrete on a few centimetres and ensure the good flatness of the flagstone. In certain cases a previbration with the vibrating needle is necessary.

To stop the vibration as soon as the concrete is not packed any more, the release of bubbles of air ceases, the milt starts to appear on the surface, this one becoming brilliant, the noise emitted by the vibrator is stabilized.
